25.05.10 Tuesday Night Diner - 'International Pop Overthrow Liverpool!'

An amazing thing is going down in Liverpool this week. The International Pop Overthrow (IPO) Liverpool festival is a yearly chance for music fans to hear over 120 bands in about a week's time, all for free, at the world famous Cavern Club and Pub. You know, the place that launched the Beatles! The festival runs from May 25 through June 1, and you won't want to miss it.

To celebrate, we'll do a radio show within a radio show! This 40+ minute program is jam packed with interviews with a few of the artists who will grace the stage of the world renowned Cavern Club. We’ll also hear their music, and a special interview with the IPO’s founder, David Bash. I chatted with folks in four different countries, and can’t wait for you to hear what it all sounds like! I'm especially excited about Maxi Dunn and Laurie Biagini performing on the same stage together, and Peter Hackett playing in Maxi's band during her sets! I also had the chance to chat with Fabrizio and Andrea from the Italian band Soundserif. And lastly, one of our up and coming favorite bands, Buzz Radio, will also have their place on the main stage as well!

I can't be there, because I'm 5,000 miles away. But if you're anywhere near Liverpool this week, you owe it to yourself to experience this great festival. Let the music play!
